Raksha Bandhan

Special assembly was conducted on occasion of  ‘Raksha Bandhan’ by students of Class IX. It  commenced by invoking the blessings of Lord with a prayer by Dev and class choir. Yashvardhan and Ayushi , the two comperes for the day spoke about the significance of the festival which is being celebrated to symbolize the sister’s love and prayers for her brother’s well being, and the brother’s lifelong vow to protect her. The children showcased a historical context about the origin of Rakhi according to Purana through a skit. They also showed the meaning of Rakhi for today’s generation. The message through this enactment was to build a society where brothers and sisters care and protect each other equally in difficult situations. The characters of Mother played by Simran, Father played by Bhoomika, Brother played by Gaurav and Sister played by Anamika left an impact on the audience. A beautiful poem on sister’s love was recited by Siddharth. National and international happenings of the day were presented by Aryan, Parth and Lalit. The thought of the day was shared by Akshay. The Principal, Ms Rashmi Prakash addressed the students with her ever – inspiring words. She encouraged children to tie “Rakhi” on siblings not just on brothers!
