SAFE MOTHERHOOD DAY
The second assembly of class IX was presented on the theme ‘Safe Motherhood Day”. Since its conception in 2003, 11th April is every year celebrated as Safe Motherhood Day, on the birth Anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi, wife of Mahatma Gandhi. This day is marked to create awareness among people about the nutritional healthcare, medical healthcare and emotional healthcare required for a better life of mothers and infants.
Mayank Bhardwaj presented Class IX as anchor of the day and began the assembly with the prayer. The prayer was followed by News headlines delivered by Shashwat Dwivedi and thought of the day by Daksh Yadav of class IX.
Then Krish Arora tried to explain the meaning of mother and motherhood by his nicely woven words. His speech left many people speechless. Then Prapti Singh of class IX shared some important information about NSMD (National Safe Motherhood Day) and encouraged the listeners to be attentive and cautious about the natal related issues and activities.
The assembly was taken into the emotional trip by the lovely performance of DPSG students on the theme “Betiyan”. Everybody was spellbound with that performance.
Later Principal Ma’am addressed the assembly and asked student to do something special for their mothers to make them feel loved. Her blessings were followed by National Anthem to conclude the assembly.
